The Standing Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade has the honour to present its

THIRD REPORT

Your committee, to which was referred Bill C-13, An Act to implement the Protocol on the Accession of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership, has, in obedience to the order of reference of March 26, 2026, examined the said bill and now reports the same without amendment but with certain observations, which are appended to this report.

Observations to the Third Report of the Standing Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade (Bill C-13)

The committee urges the government to ensure adequate resourcing of foreign service, trade commissioner service and locally engaged staff to support effective implementation of this and other free trade agreements.

The Honourable Senator Petten moved, seconded by the Honourable Senator Pupatello, that the bill be placed on the Orders of the Day for third reading at the next sitting.

A message was brought from the House of Commons with Bill C-234, An Act respecting the establishment and award of a Living Donor Recognition Medal, to which it desires the concurrence of the Senate.
